El Jadida Morocco: British Tourists’ New Luxury Escape from Dubai
Facing tensions in the Middle East and Dubai’s overcrowding, British tourists are turning to Morocco. El Jadida is now establishing itself as the ideal alternative just three hours from London, combining luxury and absolute tranquility.
The enthusiasm for the United Arab Emirates is waning in the United Kingdom. While more than a million British people traveled there each year, warnings from the Foreign Office and declining visitor numbers at Dubai airport are pushing travelers to seek a new destination of opulence.

According to a report published by The Daily Mail, the historic city of El Jadida, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is establishing itself as the perfect solution. With its 300 days of sunshine per year, its pristine beaches and its unique cultural richness where a mosque, synagogue and Catholic church coexist, the Moroccan city offers the change of scenery sought without the slightest regional tension.
Just fifteen minutes from the citadel stands the heart of this upscale offering: the Atlantis Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort. This 500-room complex, which has hosted celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Naomi Campbell, displays rates twice lower than its famous sister hotel in Dubai.
Despite full occupancy rates, the 250-acre estate preserves rare intimacy along its seven kilometers of coastline facing the Atlantic Ocean. Moroccan grandeur is expressed there with refinement through fifteen restaurants and bars, including the seafood table Sel de Mer, directed since opening by chef Farès Berriah, whose crustacean cream is unanimously praised.
The upscale experience extends through a multitude of exclusive activities far from the crowds of Emirati water parks. Sports and relaxation enthusiasts enjoy an 18-hole golf course designed by legend Gary Player, as well as a recently renovated wellness center offering aromatherapy massages.

The complex also houses the largest nighttime casino in North Africa, open 24 hours a day with its 36 live gaming tables. Between horseback rides or quad biking on desert dunes and pools lined with palm trees where peacocks roam, El Jadida deploys all the attributes of Dubai’s luxury, with calm and space to spare.
