EasyJet Unveils Moroccan Palace Illusion in Lyon, Boosting Tourism to 5 Exotic Cities

In collaboration with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), EasyJet has just launched an event-based campaign in Lyon, on the Bellecour square, to promote its flights to Marrakech, Essaouira, Agadir, Rabat and Tangier, starting in October 2025.
From August 14 to September 15, the entire facade of an iconic building on the Bellecour square, the largest and most famous in Europe, will be covered with a monumental trompe-l’oeil (196 m²) reproducing the codes of a traditional Moroccan palace. For a month, this visual created by the T&P France and Quartier M (WPP Group) agencies and highlighting the cultural richness of Morocco, will give passers-by the desire to discover the kingdom through the slogan "Get out there".
This is the objective pursued by EasyJet and the ONMT of Morocco in initiating this promotional campaign. The British low-cost airline will serve five Moroccan destinations from Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport starting in October 2025: Marrakech (one flight per day), Essaouira (2 flights per week), Agadir (2 flights per week), Rabat (3 flights per week) and Tangier (2 flights per week).
Morocco continues to establish itself as the leader in tourism in the Maghreb region. The kingdom welcomed 8.9 million tourists in the first half of 2025, an increase of 19% (1.4 million additional tourists) compared to the same period in 2024. Morocco is well positioned in the rankings of the best travel destinations, published by guides such as Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure or Lonely Planet.
After a summer that kept its promises, Morocco is already preparing for the winter with strengthened air connectivity. In this perspective, the ONMT has signed agreements for new routes or renewal of existing lines with the main low-cost companies such as EasyJet, Transavia, Ryanair, etc.
