EasyJet Closes Toulouse Base, Cancels Multiple European Routes

The closure by the British low-cost Easyjet of its Toulouse-Blagnac base results in the cancellation of a flight to Morocco and nine others to other destinations.
13 years later, EasyJet announces the closure of its Toulouse-Blagnac base due to "a combination of factors, including a slower post-Covid recovery and inflationary pressure impacting" its ability to "invest further in France". This closure was initially scheduled for March 31, "but the company has not scheduled any flights on March 30 and 31 to Marrakech, Berlin, Lille, Rennes, Faro, Porto, Minorca, Rhodes, Sardinia and Zadar," reports La Dépêche du Midi. This measure effectively results in the closure of links to ten destinations including Marrakech.
In addition to the closure of its base, the British low-cost airline specifies that it has maintained ten other air links: Toulouse-Blagnac/Paris-Orly, Basel-Mulhouse, Lyon, Nantes, Nice, on the domestic network, and London-Gatwick, Bristol, Geneva, Milan-Malpensa and Palma de Mallorca for the international.
As for the fate of the 125 employees based until then in Toulouse-Blagnac, the EasyJet management says it has reached an agreement with the unions. About thirty have chosen to leave their jobs, while 90 have agreed to join one of the six other French bases (Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Paris-Orly, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes and Nice).
