Dutch Politician Sparks Controversy: Claims Heatwave Linked to Moroccan Immigration

Faced with the high temperatures affecting the Netherlands, reaching values between 30 and 35 degrees, the leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV), Geert Wilders, reacted by establishing a link between this climatic phenomenon and Moroccan immigration.
In his statements, he described this heat as "Moroccan temperatures", seeing it as a threat to what he calls the Dutch meteorological identity. In his words, the situation is worrying: "The Netherlands is being overwhelmed by foreign temperatures. We cannot allow our country to increasingly resemble Morocco in terms of climate".
To support his analysis, Geert Wilders drew a parallel between the 34-degree reading in the Netherlands and the 29 degrees measured at the same time in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. "It’s completely crazy," he commented on this, before developing his comparison: "Young Moroccans are enjoying Dutch temperatures there, while the hard-working Dutch are sweating profusely here. It’s completely upside down."
The political leader suggested that these weather conditions would have an attracting effect on people from North Africa. He thus stated: "Guys from Morocco, Turkey and other safe countries are coming here and allowing themselves to decide a bit about the heat it’s going to be. Completely and totally crazy."
