At the end of this controversial "La Crème" café affair that shook the ochre city, the verdict of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of Marrakech did not mince words. Indeed, on the night of Friday, July 26 to Saturday, July 27, 2019, this court ordered the death penalty against the two Dutch murderers.
Death penalty for Robles Martinez, aged 26, and for Gregoria Semeril, 31 years old. This is the verdict pronounced, after several months of trial against the two Dutch murderers involved in this case that had kept the ochre city in suspense.
The owner of the Café, Mustapha El Fechtali, was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while his brother, Mohammed, was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Furthermore, the court ordered a 10-year sentence against Jamal Taghi, the brother of Ridouan Taghi, the mastermind of this murder, who is probably on the run in Dubai.
The case dates back to 2017 when a young man was shot dead on the terrace of a café in Marrakech. An assassination that, at the time, had been motivated by "a settling of scores between drug cartels and drug traffickers working between Morocco and the Netherlands", according to the various investigations conducted by the Moroccan and Dutch police.
