Drunk Driver Strikes Two Anti-Gang Officers in Casablanca, Causing Serious Injuries

Two officers from the Anti-Gang Brigade (BAG) were seriously injured in the early hours of Friday, August 4, while intervening on a road where a homeless man had been run over by a fleeing driver.
According to the communiqué of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), they were mowed down by another motorist, driving at high speed and in an advanced state of drunkenness. The faulty driver first hit a vehicle before losing control and hitting the police officers, causing them multiple fractures.
The collision caused serious injuries to the two victims, requiring immediate transfer to the emergency room. A commission of the social and medical services of the DGSN has been set up on the instructions of the Director General, in order to monitor their state of health and ensure full coverage of the costs of care and hospitalization.
As for the responsible driver, he was placed in custody for the needs of the investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
