Drug Trafficking Ring at Fez Hospital: Nurse and Pharma Rep Sentenced

Four years in prison for the nurse-anesthetist and the representative of a pharmaceutical company, involved in the diversion of drugs and medical devices at the Fez University Hospital. The verdict has finally been handed down by the criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal.
The main link that allowed the criminal network to be traced back, the representative of the company was sentenced to 1 year in prison with a fine. His main associate, the hospital nurse, was sentenced to 3 years in prison, reports the website Aljarida24.
In total, 13 defendants were arrested in this case, including private sector doctors and nurses at the Fez hospital. The decision of dismissal, handed down at first instance in favor of 8 nurses and 2 doctors, was rejected by the Court of Appeal. The defendants were required to pay bail. The hospital administration, a civil party in this case, was dismissed.
This case follows an anonymous complaint that had allowed the dismantling of a criminal network specializing in the diversion of drugs and medical devices from the Fez University Hospital. The gang was made up of hospital staff and private doctors from Fez, Meknes and Beni Mellal.
