Drug Ring Busted: 8 Sentenced in French Heroin and Cocaine Trafficking Case

An individual who sent cash transfers to Morocco and seven other defendants prosecuted for trafficking in heroin, cocaine and cannabis in Alès and the surrounding villages, were sentenced to prison terms.
Investigators say the traffic generated 200,000 € in turnover over six months. During the appearance of the eight defendants last Friday, the defense lawyers tried to mitigate the responsibilities of their clients but they fully assumed them, reports Midi Libre.
Considered the leader of this network, Mounir F. was sentenced to five years in prison, including 12 months suspended probation. His nephew, Yanisse F. and Barded N. who admit to having played the roles of lieutenant and nurse were sentenced to four years in prison with 18 months suspended probation for the first and 12 for the second. The judge kept all three in detention.
Another defendant, Ayoub M. in the process of professional reintegration, also in a relationship with a young woman from the Alès bourgeoisie, will not have to last in prison. He was sentenced to three years in prison, including 18 months suspended probation for two years. Anthony M. and Stéphanie D., as a couple, saw their sentence reduced to two years, including one suspended.
Mikaël SL, whose mission is to send cash transfers to Morocco, to condition the drugs... was sentenced to 18 months in prison, half of which were suspended. The last defendant on the list, Christophe C., 40, was sentenced to 15 months suspended probation for two years, for having stored and packaged the products at his home.
"We make them wear a coat that is too big. A network? Not even all the defendants know each other," the lawyers insist in turn. At the end of the debates, Mounir F. says to his accomplices: "I apologize for dragging you into this..."
