Despite the Heatwave, Morocco is Booming

The airline Ryanair is recording strong demand for the summer season of 2025, with solid bookings and rising prices despite the recent heatwaves in Europe and especially in Morocco. Its CEO, Michael O’Leary, confirmed the very positive trend from Warsaw on Tuesday.
According to him, demand is not waning for the most popular destinations. "August looks solid, and all the major destinations, such as Italy, Greece, Spain, the Balearics, the Canaries, even Morocco, are recording very strong demand this summer," he specified. The CEO states that episodes of extreme heat, considered a "temporary phenomenon", do not seem to be changing travellers’ behaviour this year.
On the pricing front, this dynamic should allow Ryanair to offset a large part of the 7% drop in the average price of tickets that occurred last year, when rising interest rates weighed on consumers.
Beyond the current situation, the company remains attentive to the trade tensions between the United States and the EU, which could affect its fleet, which is almost exclusively composed of Boeing aircraft. At the same time, it is pursuing its expansion, announcing that it wants to triple its traffic at Warsaw-Modlin airport by 2030 to exceed five million passengers there.
