Denmark Backs Morocco’s Autonomy Plan for Western Sahara, Awaits UN Envoy

Nikolaj Harris, the Danish ambassador to Morocco, reaffirmed Denmark’s support for the kingdom and its autonomy plan in the Sahara.
Denmark is "like the majority of countries in the world, in favor of a political solution, acceptable to all parties, just and lasting, under the auspices of the UN," said the Danish diplomat, in an interview with Al Massae.
For Nikolaj Harris, his country’s position on the Sahara issue has never been ambiguous. He said he is awaiting the replacement of the UN envoy, Horst Kohler, to continue the negotiations.
In another area, the Danish ambassador praised the efforts of the Special Commission on the Development Model. Nikolaj Harris also invited the commission to give "top priority to democratic freedoms, as they are closely linked to economic progress and development."
