The American flight to Marrakech disappoints, yet Delta maintains its commitment
The direct route between Atlanta and Marrakech has a load factor of 74.1%, well below the average for Delta Air Lines’ long-haul flights. The American airline is nevertheless maintaining its commitment to Morocco for next winter.
Launched in late October 2025, the route carried 26,565 passengers in both directions through March 2026. On average, nearly three out of four seats were therefore filled during the first months of operation.

The result nevertheless remains significantly below Delta’s usual performance. Across its entire long-haul network, the American airline filled approximately 84.9% of its seats during the period studied, nearly eleven points more than on the Atlanta–Marrakech route.
According to Simple Flying, which draws on data from the US Department of Transportation, Marrakech ranks among Delta’s ten least-filled long-haul routes.
Delta is not giving up on Marrakech
For now, these figures have not led to the route being discontinued. After its seasonal suspension during the summer, Delta plans to resume flights between Atlanta and Marrakech at the end of October 2026, still operating three round trips per week.
The airline has nevertheless revised the aircraft planned for the route. The Boeing 767-400ER used at launch is to be replaced by a Boeing 767-300ER, with lower capacity. A temporary increase to one daily flight remains scheduled during the year-end holidays.

Delta had presented Marrakech as its first destination in Morocco and as a new gateway to the kingdom for travelers arriving from more than 125 American cities via its vast Atlanta hub. The route must now prove that it can attract more passengers after an initial season that lagged behind the rest of the airline’s long-haul network.
