Decades-Old Bomb Explodes at Morocco Construction Site, Seriously Injuring Worker

A man was seriously injured in the explosion of a bomb in Tan Tan, in southern Morocco. The victim, who was working on a construction site, was taken to the hospital.
According to the Kech24 website, a bomb dating back to the Sahara war exploded in the afternoon of Tuesday, August 20, 2019, on a construction site in the city of Tan Tan, causing multiple fractures to a man in his fifties.
Discovered during the drilling operation of a construction site, the bomb eventually exploded in the hands of a mason who had taken it for scrap metal.
The victim was taken to the Tan Tan Provincial Hospital while the construction site was closed to the public by the city authorities to search for other bombs or mines to be defused.
