Deadly Flu Outbreak in Morocco Claims 9 Lives, Health Minister Urges Calm

The new death toll from the A flu is enough to worry Moroccans. According to Health Minister Anas Doukkali, 9 people died in one week.
For the minister, quoted by the MAP, this "epidemic situation" remains "normal compared to previous years". The first death, that of a pregnant woman, had occurred at the beginning of the week and since then several rumors have spread on social networks and the new figures published this Saturday are not about to calm the panic.
"Vigilance efforts continue to detect any cases in the various hospitals of the kingdom," said government spokesman Mustapha Khalfi, who had already called on the most vulnerable Moroccans to take precautions.
The A flu or swine flu is transmitted by inhalation from person to person, which was originally contracted from contact with pigs.
