Danish Youth Group Visits Morocco’s Imlil Region, Affirming Tourism Safety

The Al Haouz region has just welcomed a tourist delegation of 110 young Danes who came to prove that Morocco is a safe country and that tourism does not have to suffer from the Imlil tragedy.
These 110 young people would be approximately the same age as Louisa Jespersen and Maren Ueland, the two young women killed in December by terrorists in the Imlil region. Their presence is a clear message: Morocco is a safe and welcoming country.
According to the newspaper Al Ahdath Al Maghribiya, the local authorities of the Al Haouz region gave them a very warm welcome and would have put in place a significant security system so that their stay goes as smoothly as possible.
The 110 young Danes arrived last Saturday to spend three days in the region, including climbing Mount Toubkal as well as visiting Imlil and its surroundings.
Let us recall that the murder of the two Scandinavian tourists took place 10 kilometers from Imlil. Their bodies were found on December 17.
