Czech Firm Tapped to Modernize Morocco’s T-72B Tank Fleet

The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have called on the expertise of the Czech company "Excalibur Army" to modernize their fleet of T-72B (MBTS) tanks.
The FAR entrusted the modernization of the T-72B tanks to Excalibur Army, the main tank maintenance company, also specialized in the modernization of armored vehicles and Russian tanks, reports Armyrecognition. It will also be responsible for the modernization of other main battle tanks (MBT) T-72 of "Soviet" manufacture.
The FAR’s tank fleet is 148: 136 T-72B and 12 T-72BK from Belarus, delivered in two batches: in 1999 then in 2000; 656 diversified MBT, including 222 M1A1SA Abrams, 220 M60A1 Patton, 120 M60A3 Patton, 148 T-72B (including 12 T-72 K) and 54 Type-90-II (MBT-2000) as well as 200 M48A5 Patton.
Excalibur Army has made several modifications to the Moroccan tanks, reports the Army Recognition website. These large military vehicles are equipped in particular with an ERA (Explosive Reaction Armor) kit installed at the front and on the sides of the hull.
