Customs Seize Nearly 2,000 Smuggled Smartphones at Moroccan Port

Arrest of two international freight truck drivers who wanted to fraudulently introduce 1928 new smartphones of different brands into Moroccan territory. It was the Customs elements operating at the port of Tanger-Med who thwarted this attempt on Friday.
The mobile phones seized during this operation, according to MAP, are estimated at nearly 6 million dirhams. And, these smartphones, according to the same source, were hidden on board two trailers of international road transport.
It was a routine check of trucks coming from the ports of Spain that allowed the seizure of this quantity of phones hidden in salt for salting casings and wrapped in a special adhesive tape.
The Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII) is pleased with this operation and reiterates its commitment to strengthening customs controls so that nothing escapes the vigilance of its agents.
