Customs Seize 400 Kilos of Moroccan Cannabis in High-Speed Drug Bust

Customs agents at the Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne) toll booth intercepted a go-fast transporting nearly 400 kilos of cannabis resin from Morocco last weekend. A 23-year-old man, known to the justice system, was also arrested and presented before the judge after spending four days in custody.
The go-fast, a vehicle used by drug traffickers to quickly transport their cargoes from Morocco to France via Spain, was intercepted at one of the Montauban highway toll booths by customs agents who were apparently well-informed about the time and type of vehicle, reports La Dépêche.

The driver of the go-fast, coming from Spain, was about to take the A20 northbound when he was arrested. The search of the vehicle allowed the customs officers to discover nearly 400 kilos of cannabis resin divided into about ten 30-kilo bales. The Central Office for the Fight against Drug Trafficking (OFAST) placed the driver of the go-fast in custody for 96 hours, as provided for by law in matters of drug-related offenses, before bringing him before the judge.
