After the criticism, the apologies: Hossam Hassan praises the Moroccan "brotherly country
The Egyptian coach paid tribute to the quality of the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Hossam Hassan described the reception conditions as "ideal" during a press conference held on Thursday in the presence of the Minister of Sports and the president of his federation.
This speech marks an important turnaround for the coach of the Pharaohs. Just after the elimination of his team in the semi-finals against Senegal, Hossam Hassan had however denounced a lack of fairness regarding the scheduling and refereeing. His brother and assistant, Ibrahim Hassan, had also complained about the lack of comfort of their accommodation. The coach now assures that the Egyptian delegation was treated with great respect and that Morocco has infrastructure and resources comparable to Europe.
Hossam Hassan specified that this edition, which he considers one of the most difficult of his career, took place in a rigorous organization from the group stage. He said he was happy to have participated in a competition in a "brotherly Arab and African country" with perfectly equipped stadiums.
Regarding the attitude of some local supporters, he considered it natural that the public sometimes supports the opponents of a regular title contender. In conclusion, the technician stated that the tournament took place in a "framework worthy of Africa" and remained an overall success.
