COVID-19 Surge in Morocco Drives 200% Price Hike for Home Medical Equipment

In Rabat as well as in Casablanca, patients with Covid-19 have to pay a large sum of money to benefit from private medical equipment and resuscitation services.
The rental of medical beds, equipped with emergency medical supplies and oxygen, is thriving in the two metropolises. The explosion in demand has thus caused a rise in prices. Rental prices for these medical supplies have increased by 200% over the past two weeks.
These prices range from 100,000 to 130,000 dirhams depending on the supplies offered and the lessor, for a period ranging from one week to 14 days, accompanied by a nurse, starting at 7,000 dirhams, to compensate for the health monitoring period that the caregiver has consented to, reports Hespress.
What about the service? Specialized companies are responsible for equipping a medical care room inside the home of a person with Covid-19, equipped with advanced respiratory and medical mechanisms, which are recovered once the hospitalization period is over, it is explained.
