COVID-19 Reaches Last Moroccan Region as Cases Top 1,200 Nationwide

The Dakhla Oued Eddahab region recorded its first case of covid-19 contamination on Wednesday, April 8, more than a month after the first confirmed case in Morocco.
Spared by the pandemic, like Laâyoune Sakia El Hamra, since March 2, the Dakhla Oued Eddahab region has finally recorded its first two cases of covid-19 contamination.
With these new figures, all regions of Morocco are now impacted by the epidemic. This brings the number of infected cases to 1,275 positive cases.
While this region has just recorded its first two cases, the Casablanca-Settat region alone accounts for 30% of cases nationwide, or one third. The second third is concentrated in the two regions of Marrakech Safi and Rabat Salé Kénitra, and the last third is spread across the rest of the country, with a predominance of cases in Fez and Meknes, according to statistics from the Ministry of Health.
To date, the number of deaths stands at 93 against 97 cases of recovery.
