Corruption Probe Launched Against Moroccan Inspectors for Alleged Blackmail

An investigation into corruption has just been opened by the prefectural judicial police service against two inspectors accused of corruption.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that it has received a complaint accusing the two officials of blackmail and corruption, in which the complainant claims to have "given part of the requested sum as corruption to the accused after they made him believe that the car he was repairing was obtained from a criminal act".
The police services have questioned the complainant and viewed a video from a surveillance camera "in connection with the case", while the two police officers are the subject of a judicial investigation in order "to clarify all the accusations against them".
Administrative and disciplinary sanctions will be taken against the police officers if the corruption is proven, the DGSN specifies.
