Corruption Probe: Two Casablanca Police Inspectors Arrested for Alleged Blackmail

A judicial investigation was initiated on Thursday by the economic and financial brigade of the Casablanca police prefecture against two police inspectors, suspected of being involved in a case of blackmail and corruption.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security indicates that it received a complaint from a citizen, who accused two members of the mobile brigade of blackmail and corruption. The agents would have asked her for money in exchange for a public service.
The press release stresses that the case has been entrusted to a judicial police brigade, which has opened an investigation in order to clarify all the accusations made against the two inspectors.
For the time being, the two officers have been questioned and placed in custody pending the completion of the procedure. The DGSN also announces that disciplinary and administrative sanctions will be taken against the officers if the offense is established.
