Corruption Allegations Emerge in Rabat Municipal Exams

Advisors of the Democratic Left Federation Party in the city of Rabat have pointed to irregularities during the professional competence exams for municipal employees.
They accuse certain members of the council of "influence peddling", "corruption" and "extortion" of funds from candidates, with amounts that can reach 70,000 dirhams.
During the extraordinary session of the Rabat municipal council, Farouk Mehdaoui accused several members of the council of monetizing their intervention in these exams. He specified that certain intermediaries demand up to 70,000 dirhams to promote a candidate from grade 10 to grade 11.
Addressing the council president, Fatiha El Moudni, he stated: "We have the names of the employees involved in these practices of influence peddling and in the receipt of these sums of money." He asked the president to intervene to rectify the situation before the publication of the results. He threatened to initiate legal proceedings and make the matter public if no action is taken.
For her part, Fatiha El Moudni, the council president, described these accusations as "serious", insisting that if there are accusations of corruption, the justice system must be seized.
