Controversy Erupts as Non-Existent School’s Director Receives National Merit Award in Morocco

The list of personalities decorated with the "Royal Wissam" is often rich in the diversity of the fields of intervention, on the occasion of the feast of the King’s enthronement. This year, the list included an anomaly, namely the director of a school that does not exist anywhere in Morocco.
The Governor of the city of Missour, in the province of Boulemane, proceeded to award the Medal of National Merit to a teaching staff member, under the title of "Director of Lalla Khadija School", located in the village of Kikou.
According to the daily Akhbar Al Yaoum, the inhabitants of the village did not take long to denounce this scandalous decoration, especially since the school in question has remained closed to the public since its construction in 2013.
Several questions remain unanswered for the inhabitants of the village, who not only are deprived of a primary school, but also wonder about the selection process of the nominees.
