Controversy Erupts as Hijab-Wearing Woman Denied Entry to Rabat Restaurant

An unusual and surprising event occurred this week in Morocco. A woman was denied access to a restaurant in Rabat because she was wearing a veil.
Unusual incident. As she approached the entrance of a restaurant in Rabat, a young woman was denied access because she was wearing the hijab. The doorman first made her believe that access was subject to a reservation. He went to check if he could find her a free table. On his return, he apologized to the young woman before explaining to her that veiled women were not accepted in this restaurant.
Surprised, the young woman posted a video on social networks, in which she recounted her misadventure. The management of the restaurant did not take long to react. "We do not discriminate at the entrance to the restaurant. You are all welcome," it tries to reassure, ensuring that it has taken all the necessary measures "so that this does not happen again".
