Comedian Elie Semoun Compares Controversial Pundit Eric Zemmour to Hitler, Citing ’Dangerous Ideas’

Comedian Elie Semoun has made rather surprising criticisms of commentator Eric Zemmour, a columnist on "Face à l’info" on CNews. He almost compared him to the former German statesman Adolf Hitler.
"He is a racist, a bit xenophobic and his intelligence is unbearable, because these are simple and dangerous ideas." Comedian Elie Semoun describes commentator Eric Zemmour. He will not hesitate to draw a parallel between the CNews columnist and the founder of Nazism Adolf Hitler.
"I think that if we give him a platform, it’s because he gets ratings. If a TV director had proposed a debate with Adolf Hitler and an opponent, he would have accepted because it would have been a hit," said Elie Semoun. However, he claims not to be "comparing Zemmour and Hitler."
"But I say that giving a platform to these people generates ratings and it serves no purpose to convey this hatred. Freedom of expression is a convenient excuse, and I say it again, it’s for the ratings," he tried to explain.
Since Eric Zemmour’s arrival on CNews, the 22 episodes of "Face à l’info" broadcast between October 14 and November 20 have averaged 194,000 viewers, or a 1% audience share (Médiamétrie figures).
