Cold Case Reopens: New Witnesses Summoned in 2003 Casablanca Pregnant Woman Murder

In 2003, the body of a pregnant woman was found at her home in Hay Salmiya, her fetus having been torn from her womb. 20 years later, the case is taking a new turn.
The name of the perpetrator soon to be known? The investigating judge has summoned new witnesses after anonymous complaints were filed with the police, accusing the victim’s brother-in-law of being involved in this murder. This man is said to have paid a large sum of money to a lawyer from the Rabat bar not to be prosecuted for the murder of the pregnant woman. The lawyer is accused of "blackmail" for having demanded this sum from him.
During an evening with friends, apparently intoxicated, the victim’s brother-in-law is said to have recently admitted to admiring her, even going so far as to compare her to "a dancer", reports the daily Assabah. These are all clues that have prompted people to file a complaint against him.
Previously, the prosecution had accused the victim’s husband, his brother and the latter’s wife of being behind the murder of the pregnant woman. Confrontations between various people close to the victim had thus taken place. The new hearings could help solve this 20-year-old case.
