Coca-Cola Morocco Layoffs Leave Workers Without Pay or Unemployment Benefits

The largest beverage distribution company, Coca-Cola Morocco, has chosen to lay off a large part of its staff, following the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the site Febrayer, a statement from the company states that the declaration of employees on sick leave had been filed with the Social Security Fund, without receiving a favorable opinion.
The situation has forced several dozen employees to demonstrate in the hope of receiving clear explanations on the reasons for the CNSS refusal.
Moreover, the company would have, according to the demonstrators, proposed to grant the staff the sum of 1,000 dirhams in the form of a loan, stressing that the majority had received the March allowance.
