Club World Cup in Morocco Set to Boost Tourism and Economy

From February 1 to 11, Morocco will host the 13th edition of the Club World Cup. Beyond the sporting aspect, there will be economic fallout, particularly for the tourism sector.
After its historic run at the 2022 World Cup, Morocco hopes to capitalize on the Mondialito to develop tourism and boost its activity. In this sense, the organizers are counting on the star teams of the competition, such as Real Madrid and Flamengo.
According to l’Économiste, these two teams led by their stars and driven by their many supporters, will provide high-quality entertainment. According to estimates, the Brazilian team usually mobilizes some 20,000 fans, while the European champions could travel with more than 15,000 supporters. In total, more than 50,000 supporters are expected for the tournament.
With the Moroccan supporters (ranked as a true 12th man during the Qatari World Cup), the stadiums will be packed. A boon for national tourism, which should explode the counters, according to the same source. Also an opportunity for Morocco, a candidate to host the 2025 CAN, to gain notoriety and outpace its competitors, including the Algerian rival.
The total revenue that this international competition will generate is estimated at 50 million dirhams, to which 20 million dirhams from sponsorship will be added, the economic newspaper indicates.
