Chinese State-Owned Group Eyes Morocco’s Marrakech-Agadir High-Speed Rail Project

The Chinese group Zhong Neng Xuan Zong Industrial (ZN) is expressing interest in the Marrakech-Agadir High Speed Rail project. It is a state-owned group.
Zhong Neng Xuan Zong Industrial (ZN) wishes to position itself on the Marrakech-Agadir High Speed Rail project with a local partner, Eco Group holding SA. The Chinese group has already sent a letter of intent to the head of government, Saâdeddine El Othmani, reports L’Économiste. In this correspondence, it requests to be associated with the launch of this section of the HSR. It has also committed to mobilizing the expertise of Chinese operators, including China Railway group, China Railway construction group and China academy of railway science corporation.
The Marrakech-Agadir HSR is a high-speed rail project aimed at connecting the two cities. It is part of the "2040 rail program".
