China Charters Flight to Repatriate 27 Hongkongers Stranded in Morocco Amid Coronavirus Crisis

China has chartered a flight to repatriate 27 Hongkongers stranded in Morocco due to the coronavirus.
In a statement, the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) indicates that a charter flight took off from Casablanca on Thursday, landing in Guangzhou, the capital of the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.
In addition to the 27 Hongkongers, other Chinese citizens are making the same trip. Upon arrival, the Hongkongers will be quarantined for 14 days before returning to their homes.
As for the 18 other Hongkongers stranded in the kingdom for personal reasons or for other reasons, the HKSAR government assures that it will continue to work with the Chinese embassy in Morocco to repatriate them by other means.
