Chelsea's Lampard Rejects Ziyech-Hazard Comparisons, Urges Focus on Team

The comparisons between Hakim Ziyech and Eden Hazard, Chelsea’s former star, are not to the liking of the English technician, Frank Lampard. He asks his players to focus on themselves.

In such a short time, the new recruit’s performances have seduced Chelsea supporters, the English press and former Premier League figures. They do not hesitate to compare Ziyech to the club’s former star, Eden Hazard. Something that the Blues’ coach does not appreciate. "It’s very difficult to replace player for player the talents of Eden Hazard," the English technician confided to the Daily Mail newspaper, stressing that his contribution to the club has been enormous.

"To lose that, you have to try to find a way around the problem with last year’s transfer ban. It was more about the young players and how we could become more effective as a team. I think we’ve made very good strides on that front and now, with the players we’ve recruited. I’d hate to give any of them the job or the idea of ’you have to replace Eden’. They have to focus on themselves," he said.

Lampard also praised the Moroccan’s performances. "He’s had a big impact. I’ve been impressed with him in every sense. He’s delivered on the pitch in a short space of time. That’s one of the reasons I brought him to the club. I thought he could be a real talent and bring something different in his style and way of playing. So far, he’s shown that and I expect him to show more of that," he hinted.
