Chaos at Royal Air Maroc Office as Morocco Reopens Flights, Slashes Ticket Prices

An indescribable crowd was observed on Boulevard Émile Jacqmain in front of the Royal Air Maroc (RAM) agency in Brussels on Tuesday, June 15, the day marking the gradual resumption of air links to and from Morocco. The police had to intervene.
The resumption of flights to and from Morocco followed by the drastic drop in airline ticket prices, as wished by King Mohammed VI, caused a crowd in front of the office of the national airline Royal Air Maroc. Customers are rushing to book a plane ticket at a more affordable price.
"The police were alerted. We first thought it was a spontaneous action. But it was not the case. These are customers who came in large numbers to this agency," explains Ilse Van de Keere, spokeswoman for the Bruxelles-Ixelles police zone. Videos showing the scenes have been circulating on the web.
Morocco officially reopens its skies on Tuesday, after several months of closure. In total, 42 airlines will serve 43 countries. Among them, four new ones: two Russian (S7 Airlines and Aeroflot), one Israeli company and another African.
