Ceuta Officials and Muslim Leaders Collaborate on Future Eid Al Adha Celebrations

A working group to propose the conditions, measures and resolutions to be adopted to guarantee, from next year, the celebration of Eid al adha, subject to the legislation in force. This is what the local authorities and the Muslim community of Ceuta have agreed upon.
The city government and the Muslim community of Ceuta, represented by the delegation of the Islamic Commission of Spain in Ceuta (CIE), have issued a joint statement in which they undertake to set up a working group whose objective will be to propose the conditions, measures and resolutions to be adopted to guarantee, from next year, the celebration of Eid Al Adha, subject to the legislation in force.
In this statement, the city government also indicated that the decisions adopted within the framework of the celebration of this year, essentially concern the health measures against covid-19, "leaving clear evidence of its intention to maintain a celebration of such importance for the Muslim community and, as such, is recognized as a public holiday".
In any case, a meeting was held on Tuesday, to comply with the proposal presented by Fatima Hamed Hossain, spokesperson for the Movement for the Dignity and Citizenship of the Ceuta Assembly, relating to the approval of as many measures as necessary to allow the celebration of Eid Al Adha.
