CDC Warns Against Non-Essential Travel to Morocco Amid COVID-19 Concerns

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has just classified several African countries at level 3 of the Covid-19 risk. Unfortunately, Morocco is one of them.
The highly credible US federal agency for the protection of health and safety of people in the [United States and abroad has classified Morocco at the high level of its list of risk of spread of the pandemic. Thus, the agency discourages international travelers from traveling to Morocco and postponing any non-essential travel to the Kingdom, reports Challenge.
In addition, the Atlanta-based agency indicated that the Moroccan health system is "limited", exposing foreign visitors to high risks in case of coronavirus contamination. This suggests that even in the post-Covid period, the state of a country’s health system may become a condition for decision and arbitration among tourists for their travel choices.
An announcement that comes at the wrong time and compromises Morocco’s hopes of saving its tourism at this end of a staggering year. However, Morocco is not the only one to see its hopes of reviving its tourism take off so quickly. Egypt, Tunisia, Cape Verde, Gabon, Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal and others also share this fate.
Only the Republic of Mauritius is still classified as moderate risk for tourists, with a warning of caution.
