Casablanca Unveils $20 Million Waterfront Renovation Plan Near Iconic Hassan II Mosque

The development and extension work on the corniche of the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca to the El Hank area will soon begin. A call for tenders has just been launched for this purpose.
Costing more than 200 million dirhams, this project is the result of a partnership between the Directorate General of Local Authorities under the Ministry of the Interior, the Casablanca municipality and the Casablanca Environment Development Company.
The project plans to create a public garden, play areas for children and sports (running, walking, cycling), public restrooms, an underground parking lot with a capacity of 1,000 cars and the installation of a lighting and water management system.
The competent authorities will ensure the completion of the work, in compliance with urban and environmental standards, and within a period of 18 months. This project is part of the Casablanca Development Plan, which aims to provide the economic capital of the kingdom with modern infrastructure and to raise it to the rank of major world metropolises.
