Casablanca Tramway Resumes Full Service After Two-Week Closure for Infrastructure Work

Closed since July 20 for work reasons, the nine tramway stations in Casablanca, located between Derb Ghallef and Aïn Diab, resumed service on Monday, August 5, 2019.
"Traffic will be able to resume normally on the entire T2 route, from Sidi Bernoussi to Aïn Diab," said RATP Dev Casablanca, the operator of the Casablanca tramway, which had pointed out that "the work to build the retaining bridge under the platform of the second tramway line, which will later allow the excavation of an underpass at the Gandhi Blvd-El Jadida Rd intersection, is progressing according to the schedule set by Casa Transports S.A., the delegated project owner".
This is good news that should delight the users of this means of transport, which relieves a large number of workers in the metropolis. To inform the public of this resumption of normal operation on T2, RATP Dev Casablanca announced that "an information campaign was deployed as of Monday, July 29", adding that RATP Dev Casablanca agents remain present in the five commercial agencies and in all T1 and T2 stations to inform the public.
In addition, 13 depositories located on the T2 route are mobilized to sell tickets and rechargeable cards, and to recharge subscriptions, in order to facilitate access to the tram for users.
