Casablanca Shoppers Flock to Reopened Stores Amid Fear of Future Lockdowns

In Casablanca, many customers rushed to shops, stores and fashion outlets on the first day of the easing of confinement, to stock up on purchases. They fear a new confinement decision.
The shops and boutiques, closed for almost three months, have reopened, in compliance with the health safety measures required by the authorities and to the delight of their customers, reports the daily Assabah. On Thursday, these stores resumed their activities, after several weeks of closure that had led to a drop in their turnover.
Hand washing or disinfection devices have been installed at the entrance of some stores. Access is also regulated according to the size of the stores in order to respect social distancing, causing endless queues in front of certain boutiques.
Similarly, signage panels have been installed in large stores to ensure the fluidity of customer movements and their orientation.
According to the newspaper, the influx was there at all the sales areas. Fearing a new decision to close these spaces, some customers have stocked up on purchases.
