Casablanca Restaurant Faces 4-Month Alcohol Ban for Violating Dining Laws

The restaurant Le Cabestan located in Casablanca will no longer be able to serve alcohol for four months. The managers, according to the authorities, have violated one of the laws governing this type of establishment.
The authorities have sanctioned Le Cabestan after finding that alcohol is served there without being accompanied by cooked dishes. According to them, suspending the sale of alcohol for a period of four months responds to the need to protect the population and cannot be perceived as harassment. Since the entry into force of the state of health emergency, bars have been called upon to close their doors. Only bar-restaurants have been allowed to open, provided they comply with the preventive measures, reports le360.
A few days ago, the owners of the same restaurant had complained about a control operation carried out by agents, while customers were seated. This is a "Clean Hands" operation, launched by the services of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in order to sanction establishments that do not take into account the preventive measures taken to contain the spread of covid-19.
