Casablanca Real Estate Fraud: Developer Accused of Misrepresenting Social Housing Project

A real estate developer in Bouskoura tried to sell social housing to dozens of future buyers from whom he took advances. The latter, having discovered the deception, are demanding the reimbursement of their dues.

The case came to light when dozens of future owners of this city located in the Casablanca region were invited to produce a certificate of non-ownership of another property, reports the daily Assabah. Surprised by this request, they tried to better understand. It was at this moment that they discovered that the buildings to be acquired are in fact social housing. This type of housing is generally built by the State for the benefit of low-income social categories, which justifies the request for a certificate of non-ownership of a property.

These future owners were also fooled on the selling price of the housing, largely higher than the 250,000 dirhams set by the authorities for this type of apartment. The persons concerned have already seized the authorities of the province of Nouaceur, without success. They have also initiated legal proceedings with a view to the restitution of their advances. But they were surprised to find that the bank account of the company that received their advances is empty. Despite this, they do not despair and remain determined to recover their funds by all possible means.
