Casablanca Ranks Low in Global Livability Index, Deemed "Uncomfortable" by Economist

Casablanca is the only Moroccan city featured in the "The Global Liveability Index" published by the magazine The Economist.
With a relatively low score of 51.2 points, Casablanca ranks 115th out of 140 in this ranking. The economic capital of the kingdom is thus classified in the category of cities where "the quality of life is uncomfortable".
At the level of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Casablanca takes 10th place out of a total of 16 cities. Abu Dhabi (73.5 points, 63rd global rank) is the city where it is good to live in the region. This is followed by Dubai (70 points, 74th), Manama (64.4 points, 87th), Doha and Kuwait (64.3 points, 88th), Muscat (60 points, 94th), Amman (57.7 points, 103rd) and Riyadh (53.3 points, 108th), Tunis (53 points, 110th) and Jeddah.
With 48.7 points, Khobar (Saudi Arabia) occupies the 120th global rank in the MENA ranking. It is followed by Cairo (44 points, 128th), Tripoli (34.2 points, 135th), Algiers (34.1 points, 136th) and Damascus (26.5 points, 140th).
