Casablanca Ranks 5th in Arab World for Millionaires, Study Finds

According to a study by the consulting firm Henley & Partners (H&P), a leading institution, Casablanca is one of the richest cities in the world and one of the fastest growing. Two other Moroccan cities as well.

Morocco has 4,400 millionaires, with fortunes exceeding $1 million (10 million dirhams). As the Moroccan city with the largest number of millionaires in the country, Casablanca is the fifth in the Arab world. The city has seen a substantial 28% increase in the number of millionaires, with a total of 2,800 people with fortunes exceeding $1 million, reports the media Rue20. It has 14 millionaires with more than $100 million, and two billionaires with an impressive net worth of $1 billion.

Casablanca is followed by Marrakech, with a 55% increase in wealthy residents. The ochre city has 900 millionaires, including eight people with more than $100 million and two billionaires. Tangier comes next. The number of rich people living in this city has increased by 33%. It has three millionaires. Each has more than $100 million.

New York tops the ranking of the richest cities in the world, carried out by Henley & Partners taking into account the number of ultra-rich who reside there. It is home to 340,000 millionaires, 58 billionaires and 724 people with more than $100 million. Arab cities are not left out. Dubai (United Arab Emirates) ranks 20th in the world and first in the Arab world, with 68,400 millionaires, 15 billionaires and 206 people with a net worth exceeding $100 million, reports BNN Breaking.

The Qatari capital is followed by Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, 4th richest city in the Arab world and 47th in the world, with more than 18,100 millionaires, eight billionaires and 63 large fortunes. Cairo, the capital of Egypt, completes the top 5 in the Arab world. It has 7,400 millionaires, five billionaires and 27 people whose fortune exceeds $100 million.
