Casablanca Police Arrest 13 Football Fans for Vandalism and Violating COVID-19 Measures

The services of the Casablanca police prefecture arrested 13 individuals, including three minors, for refusing to comply. In addition to the many acts of vandalism they are accused of, the defendants also violated the measures of the health emergency state.
Based on a telephone call received and denouncing outlaws, the police services of the Moulay Rachid district went to the scene. Individuals, apparently affiliated with local football fan groups, caused damage to four private cars. But these young people are also accused of exchanging violence, refusing to comply, throwing stones at the public forces and threatening the safety of people and property, specifies a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Faced with the intervention of police patrols, the persons concerned fiercely resisted by throwing stones, the same source said, adding that 13 of the suspects were arrested.
The adults among these troublemakers were placed in custody, while the minors were placed under surveillance at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, concludes the DGSN.
