Casablanca Mother Cites Troubled Past in Child Endangerment Case

During her appearance before the investigating judge at the Court of Appeal of Casablanca on Monday, March 16, the young woman accused of throwing her 3 children off the roof of her home, mentioned surprising facts about her childhood and her marriage.
Married for ten years, the 33-year-old woman, prosecuted for attempted voluntary manslaughter, told the judge that she had been a victim of domestic violence and lived in chronic anxiety, due to the daily household scenes.
When questioned about the motives for her act, the woman limited herself to shedding a few tears before the Court, murmuring that she no longer remembers it.
A social investigation ordered by the Court had revealed the disjointed and difficult childhood of the accused. Deprived of maternal love, her mother having abandoned her at a young age, she had been raised by her grandmother and aunt, who had never enrolled her in school.
The hearing was postponed to April 6.
