Casablanca Launches Major Bridge Renovation Plan for Safety Upgrades

Following a study conducted by the city of Casablanca, all bridges that pose a danger to users or are dilapidated will be renovated.
In total, 60% of the vehicle bridges in the different areas of the city are affected by this emergency plan.
12% of them require repairs and modernization of their equipment, while the remaining 28%, the majority of which are pedestrian bridges, only require minor interventions, according to the NOVEC firm mandated for the study.
Let us recall that the overall rehabilitation of all infrastructure that is in danger of collapse or in a dilapidated state had started in 2019 for a period of two years. The urban municipality and the General Directorate of Local Authorities have committed to releasing 160 million dirhams.
For this project, the council estimates the cost of the work at around 100 million dirhams.
