Casablanca to Launch Electric Double-Decker Buses in 2021, Boosting Green Transit

A new fleet of high-end buses will be put into circulation in Casablanca starting in mid-2021. An environmentally friendly mode of transport, the double-decker electric buses will run every 10 minutes.
The vice-president of the Casablanca city council, Abdelmalek Lakhili, said that "these new buses will be an environmentally friendly mode of transport as they will have electric batteries. They will contribute to the fight against pollution."
Pending the implementation of the necessary infrastructure by Casa Transport, the new urban transport will initially serve the connection of Salmia, Mohammed VI and Hay Hassani, stressed the president of the Ain Chock district.
"A strategy will be put in place to ensure a bus every ten minutes," assured Lakhili, without specifying the number of vehicles that will be deployed in the economic capital. The last point raised by the official, and which is likely to cause a stir, is the price of the new bus.
