Casablanca Invests 30 Million Dirhams in Modern Public Toilet Network

The Casablanca city council is about to install 60 public toilets in the city. With a total cost of 30 million dirhams, this project has been entrusted to the company Casa Environnement, which will manage it.
These new generation public toilets will be directly connected to the city’s sewerage network, reports the daily Al Akhbar, specifying that the opening of the bids concerning the equipment, installation and operation of these toilets is scheduled for September 8.
The project is expected to require an investment of nearly 11 million dirhams, to which are added the 20 million dirhams dedicated to the management of these urinals by the company Casa Environnement. The city council will finance the project thanks to the revenue from the advertising billboards that will scroll on the new generation screens affixed to the front facades of the public toilets, it is indicated.
A first batch of 20 urinals should be installed by early 2024, and the rest within the following eight months, the same source specifies. Each toilet will have two urinals for women and men and a room for babies. It will be equipped with a modern interior and exterior lighting system, fans, an internal air conditioner and a smoke detector.
The city council is exchanging with the heads of the 16 districts to identify the places to install these public toilets, said the deputy mayor Abdessadek Mourchid. Green spaces such as the Arab League Park, the Hassan II Mosque, the Murdoch Garden or the Ain Diab corniche will also benefit from this project.
