Casablanca: the felling of trees shocks

In Casablanca, the actors engaged in environmental protection are outraged by the felling of jacaranda trees on Boulevard Anfa. They denounce an "environmental crime".
"The felling of jacaranda trees is an environmental crime against one of the most emblematic avenues of the economic capital, by the municipality of Casablanca which has deprived the inhabitants of this type of tree that was nearly ten years old," fumes Salima Belemkaddem, president of the "Maroc Environnement 2050" movement, to the Al3omk site, before highlighting the benefits of this tree. Describing Casablanca as one of the most polluted cities, she said that the jacaranda trees offered the passer-by on Boulevard Anfa the pleasure of contemplating the beauty of this type of tree, which at the same time interacted with the four seasons.
"This tree improves the visual quality of the street, as it blooms and gives a sense of proximity to nature in the middle of a city like Casablanca, which is important for the mental and physical health of the inhabitants of this city that suffers from the proliferation of palm trees and the weather," assures Belemkaddem.
