Casablanca Explores Free Public Transit for Disabled Residents, Seeks Stakeholder Approval

The city of Casablanca is considering free public transport for people with disabilities. The initiative will be submitted to all stakeholders in the sector for review, with a view to its implementation.
In response to rumors about free transport for the disabled in public transport, the Casablanca authorities have stated, in a press release, that this decision must be inclusive, requiring the agreement of all stakeholders in the sector.
According to the local authorities, the management of the public transport sector, whether by tramway or by bus, is carried out under contracts with the Casablanca transport company and the Alza company, which is why the issue of free transport "requires consultation with our partners in the management of this sector."
Expressing their desire to see this social project materialize, the city officials specified that the subject will be discussed "during the development of the municipal action plan project for the 2022-2027 period and following a participatory approach."
The municipality of Casablanca is driven, it is said, by the desire to negotiate and develop projects with a social aspect, the aim being to improve the situation of people with special needs through the efforts of all stakeholders in the sector.
