Casablanca Council Approves Land Expropriations for Urban Development Projects

The Casablanca municipal council has decided to expropriate certain real estate properties to finance the implementation of development projects in the city.
This decision was made during the last ordinary session of the municipal council held in May. Mayor Nabila Rmili and the municipal councilors approved the expropriation of certain land properties in order to continue the realization of road infrastructures, public squares and development projects in the economic capital of the kingdom.
In detail, the council approved the expropriation of several private land properties for the development of the road connecting the Al Fouarat and Al Hizam Al Kabir Boulevards in the Roches Noires district. The expropriation of the land located between the Avenue of the Royal Armed Forces, Mouha Ousaid Street, Félix Max Guedj Street and the Hyatt Regency hotel will allow the construction of a public square and an underground parking lot in the Sidi Belyout district.
Similarly, properties will be expropriated as part of the construction of roads within the framework of the development plan for the Sidi Bernoussi district. Land to be expropriated has also been identified for the realization of roads in the Ain Chock district.
The municipal council also validated the expropriation of part of a land property of an area of 10,863 square meters, in order to allow the realization of a stormwater collection basin in the Sbata district, as well as the expropriation of part of a land property of an area of 10,161 square meters, for the extension of a stormwater collection basin in the North Lahraouiyine area, in the Sidi Othman district.
